I know, but what is the name of the species pictured there? I have some that look identical to that I am trying to ID. Can you get a pic of yours with the dorsal up? The reason I say eupterus is that its base color looks grey and not tan.
i thought for alittle bit that your syno could be ocellifer from the first pics that you posted. But the second set positively identifies it as syno eupterus as uncwnells had previously suggested.
I'm sorry to say it looks like it may be one of the many hybrid synos coming out of Europe. The 'hump' at the base of the dorsal fin is a possible sign, and the markings don't seem to match any known species.
Definitely not S.eupterus.
