Thats a Synodontis eupterus you have there. Very fast growers till about 5~6 inches then they slow way down. Ill get a new pic of mine tomorrow and i show you how rough mine looked when i bought him.

How big is that Stripped Rapheal? What other fish do you have with him?

That Rapheal must be pretty old, how long have you had him?

The Eupterus or Featherfin (other names you might find) usaully top off between 7 and 8 inches. When planetcatfish.com is working you might want to read there page on them and you can learn alot. The only thing i dont like about them is that there color as a juvenile is pretty but the adult looks ugly.. but still a super neat catfish!

Other common names in the Uk include Synodontis network and S.featherfin, gets confusing doesnt it? you can see from examples like this why ultimately scientific names are needed.
Nice cat, watch it as it matures, adults can be quite nasty with certain tank mates.

sure will I have it with a spotted pictus, 6 inch raphael striped, then the cichlids its with are a male convict, gold severum, and a nicaraguins also an 8 inch common pleco.

The answer to this is never black or white, generally they become aggressive as they mature, having said that many fish do have their individual dispositions, wait and see, lets not evict him before hes done any crime.Being a nocturnal species that likes the security of bogwood and caves etc they often have conflicts with fishes with the same requirements when deciding whos having the best hide out.
Good luck.
