The answer to this is never black or white, generally they become aggressive as they mature, having said that many fish do have their individual dispositions, wait and see, lets not evict him before hes done any crime.Being a nocturnal species that likes the security of bogwood and caves etc they often have conflicts with fishes with the same requirements when deciding whos having the best hide out.
Good luck.
im going to put lots of hiding places just need to go up to my farm to search the creek beds for flat rocks there is alot of slate that I could use for nice caves.

That sounds like a good idea, plenty of options is possibly the way to minimise the chances of aggressive behaviour from this fish.

Out of all the rocks i have, mine still prefers to hide behind the filter tube?

Read the part about the guy saying the Synodontis Eupterus get nasty when older. I have heard of people having problems with old ones before but people with Rapheals never had that problem. Maybe that will help. Minbe has never tryed anything in my tank. When i first got him he was all beat up from fighting but once in my tank he has been an angel. Hope that might help.

yeh good catfish, will eat ANYTHING and mine isn't really aggressive to anything apart from the synodontis angelicus now and then when they feed they shove each other out the way for food.

Looks more like a game to be honest.

Mine is big now.

Here is a pic from about a year ago.

I have a lace and it has developed a silver mask and streak down its side. He(?) is about 4 years old and is about 6 inches long. Have you seen/heard of this before?
