I know a few years back these were believed to be a hybrid. Is that still the case? I picked one up and I'm curious to know the adult size / look of this little guy.

Definitely a hybrid. You can expect 6-8 inches. S. Longirostris is incredibly rare. I have been searching for years for evidence that anyone even has one in an aquarium settings. The closest I've come is stories of people who had them in the 80a it would be incredible to see one in person. One of the holy grails for big cat keepers

I assumed it was not a true Longirostris but I can't believe they are claiming it will get to 26" when it only gets to 6-8". Most people would pass on it due to the 20"+ size.

Did you check out the PlanetCatfish link I posted?

Ok, what is the adult size and any adult pics so I can tell what this guy will look like?

6"-8" is perhaps about right.

Here is mine, when I had got it and a couple years later. Right it is in a pond, can't take pics.
