Synodontis Longirostris from Petsmart

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I assumed it was not a true Longirostris but I can't believe they are claiming it will get to 26" when it only gets to 6-8". Most people would pass on it due to the 20"+ size.

Bad that they are mislead by their own mistake. Good that this appears to be at least an honest mistake, not a lead-on.

I see one everyday : )

Definitely a hybrid. You can expect 6-8 inches. S. Longirostris is incredibly rare. I have been searching for years for evidence that anyone even has one in an aquarium settings. The closest I've come is stories of people who had them in the 80a it would be incredible to see one in person. One of the holy grails for big cat keepers

Nice! Is it the angle? I thought they have long more slender bodies. This one looks stubby.

Here's a little update. He was around 1.5" in the first post. Now he's right around 5" or so.

Looks just like "Angie". A hybrid:

Yea, he's definitely a hybrid, unlike most of the other Syno's I've had he is always hiding. I just picked up two Syno decorus's so hopefully they will be a little more active.
