Synspillum and geophagus winemilleri/Altifrons

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The Syn full grown is around 14-16" the Altifron get 12-14". 100 gal is far to small for a long time home but not bad for a little while.

You should try keeping the Geos with SA species. They have similar water params. I have a pair of Geos in with 3 Festae, 10 Ornatum, and 2 Specs. They all like the softer water and lower ph. As they all grow, I will eventually need to weed out the ones that I dont want but for the most part, it will stay like this. They all grow painfully slow, so they can be in my 250 for awhile before I have to start moving.

hahaha, you're saying don't do the Synspillum because they're too aggressive, and then say you have Festae with your geophagus.

I've had Festae before. If a Synspillum is too mean, Festae are DEFINITELY too aggressive.

I didnt say. :) I just pointed out size of the fish full grown in a 100gal tank. I said nothing about aggression. Maybe you should read it again. :D

Well then.....I'm not interested in recommendations about size of fish. I know how big they all get. I'm interested in aggression levels and overall compatability.

So no oops my bad? Just a smart *** comment? I guess if you read my first post properly, I gave a suggestion, and I didnt even shoot down your original idea. So why the hostility?

But if you want us to say something that you want to hear, then yes it will work. Syns are on the mellower side of aggressive. Put them in there it will be fine, its all about what you want any way.

No. I'm not going to apologize to you because I think you are an idiot and I've seen your worthless posts before. If you would have read the thread before posting, you would have seen that I was asking about temperament/aggression and not about your opinion on tank size.

Stop derailing my thread. I don't care about any of your opinions or what you think, and won't take any of your garbage opinions into account for my decision as I think you're an idiot. Stop taking the Internet so personally.

Again, I'm only interested in hearing about the aggressiveness of the fish themselves. Not the size and if you think the fish are in too small of a tank. Only if the specific species can coexist together. And I'm not interested in the whole "all of them have their own personality" thing either. We all know you shouldn't house a dovii with a beta, and I'm just trying to get a better idea of what I'm getting into here.

And you did mention that I should look into other sa's such as festae. I don't give a crap about festae. They're more aggro than synspillum. So why would I even consider them if I want synspillum first and foremost if they will be docile enough? You sir fail.

Good idea kid. Festae and geophagus long term is NOT what I'm looking for.

Go spread your "wisdom" elsewhere. I'm not listening to it.

WOW. I dont think I said put the Geo's with Festae. I did say maybe try them with other SA Cichlids, due to similar params. The Festae comment is just what I am doing, no where in that comment did I tell you that you should. I highlighted my comment in red for reference.

Again I am confused as to why you are having an issue.
