I've used the t5 22" unit. The kit I have was made by Current USA and price was $20. I am not sure if this is any better than the kit from Lowes hardware store. I was running a 10,000K bulb on this kit and let me tell you it's very bright. I absolutely loved it. A year later the bulb died and I replaced it with Lowes t-5 4500K bulbs. They were not even close in brightness and there is no comparison. But for $6 a bulb I cannot complain. If you're using a 14w kit then you have to buy 14w bulbs. The higher watts bulb will not burn as bring on a 14w kit.
