Hello! could anyone tell me the possible lifespan of the T.miurus puffer? and could it be housed in a 20gln. cube tnk. by it's self for life?? thanx in advance!

They are the more rare species. I would go with at 40 and have some fast swimming top fish (possibly rasboras?) I've had this set up for a while now (8 months) and I've only lost 1 out of a school of 6. It makes your tank lively with life, but still have that one main attraction.

Note: High possibility that your mirius will adapt and eventually pick off all your rasboras... lol.

There is no way any kind of fish would live more than a few seconds in the same tank with my miurus.

It's not just swimming room that counts for puffers- you need more water volume to dilute their waste (I overfilter my tank- fully filter the water 10x per hour to keep it clean plus 25-50% water changes every week). Also I won't try to keep anything with a T.miurus- mine can almost inhale a whole medium shrimp at only 3" in length. Is the 20g one of those biocubes? If so go with a bigger tank you can put more filtration on (have my congo in a 29g with a 200 penguin and a 250 H.O.T. magnum on it to keep it clean).
