I thought it would be more along the lines of "Oh dear god, what is that huge monstrous thing coming near me!?" (though personally, I'm convinced it's thinking "...if I can only bite the jugular, I'll be free of this box to start my murderous rampage.")

I was terrified of spiders when I was a kid, and apparently my father was also. So my dad did what his dad did for him as a child, bought me a tarantula! It took about a week of regular handling and now the fear is gone.

Good for you for confronting your fears. I don't mind spiders really but they're just not for me.

Now that was a perfect come back. I love spiders though.

Also, they do sell Rose Hairs as the most common but still dont be shocked if it ever does nab you, just BE THE GROUND lol, some rose hairs are actually a little feistier than other Ts. My old one that finally died was great to handle, the one I have now I wont mess with, total spaz, and thats coming from a guy who will hold my OBT lol, sometimes. Whats its cage like, substrate?

I'll take a picture of it later, but I picked up a Exo Terra terrarium that's 8x8x8, that the vendor was selling, too. I think I'm going to move him/her/it into my 12x12x12, though. I don't know, the one I got from the vendor seems... small, she said it was okay so maybe it is. But for the moment, it has eco soil mixed with orchard bark that's about 2-3" deep. It has a small dish with a sponge for water and I put in some wood work on top of the hide I provided (PVC pipe). I don't know if it needs the wood work, but I watched it climb around the tank and figured it might enjoy the branches and stuff. Oh, and I kept the supplied background thing in there, too.

Phobos still scares me, but I don't scare it... it now readily walks out of the cage door onto me and sits on my sleeve. My hoodie sleeve is a spider magnet for some reason, I guess. I'm cool with it sitting there, but it sure looks creepy as those legs come up and out of the cage door!
