Its been about a month now so what do i need to do to help w/ the healing process? Water params are good and im not sure what else i should do. I took some pics and theyre not the greatest but its the best i could do w/ what i have. Any ideas??

might want to try some melafix. I am not a huge fan of it but some people swear by it.

On a side note is that torpedo beach sand by carib sea? I am sand shopping right now and that is what I am thinking of getting. It looks great whatever it is

i would be reluctant to add meds . what is it that your treating ?

the wound looks like its healing ok . tails get damaged often in rays but tails often heal slower than the disc and usually dont grow back either.

give it time and only worry if you see something wrong or unusual.

A senegalus bit the end of his tail. Ive seen the very tip of the tail look white-ish from landing on it but never this much and its never lasted this long. I guess i just feel like it should be showing some improvement by now..

happened to mine too, male bit off a sizable length of my females tail.
it took forever to heal up, i noticed it healed more quickly when she was sectioned off from him, than when with him, possibly continued nipping at it.
to heal her, i just used a little salt with water changes and kept the water pristine and fresh.

i did try melafix and it didn't seem to do diddly squat other than making the water smell nice and foamy. the key is keeping the water clean, making sure they eat (keep their energy up and helps the body heal quicker) and helping them feel less stressed (sectioned off).

Ok thanks...guess ill just keep doin what im doin. I might try a little more salt though. I gave away the senegalus so i dont have to worry about that anymore and now there are only 3 fish(an archer and 2 tinfoil barbs) in w/ him and they dont bother him. Ill just keep an eye on it..

The tail will not grow back... it will most likely fall off where it is white and be a stub there from now on...

Yea Melafix worked when my ray had a fin injury and i used melefix for about 3 weeks and it is now completely healed.
