Tailless ray?

I imagine if a ray looses its tail, it can still live a happy life in aquaria... just as blind fish can. Certainly makes it look odd, wonder if it was taken off.
 
I was thinking that it would profusely bleed out and die if the tail was removed, thou I guess if it was operated on anything is possible....
 
Well... we all know how popular fish disfigurement is to get oddballs. Still there are any number of reasons the ray might not have a tail. Not even sure on the species.
