Personally, I like this look much better. It just needs fish capable of eating the feeders and black back and sides to make the fish pop and become the focal point.

Agreed, Had my stint with fully planted tanks and no more for me thank you. Looks great, but like the size, drift and sump the best.

Amano's work is amazing. This is the second layout for his personal tank. Apparently, there was a series of earthquakes in 2004 that damaged his aquascape. The new layout used the same hardscape materials.
