I took my serras hide out a few weeks ago to net him out. I decided later not to give him up, and kept him. Now he's all over the tank, showing better colors than ever before, and he's a lot less shy than he was. He still bolts to the other side of the tank if I get really close to him, but I think that has more to do with him being uncomfortable in his new environment. He used to just sit under a piece of deco all day, but now he swims up and down the tank through the air bubbles coming out the line across the back of the tank. It's funny too. my tank has a mirror background and he shoals with 3 other images of himself in the corner... :banhim:

If you have a well established serra tank, take the thing he hides in out. It's amazing.:headbang2

I took some pics, and even figured out how to shoot short videos with my cam, but I can't find the USB cable. I think I may have already packed it up. His colors are amazing right now. He's starting to look more like an adult. He's got tiger stripes right now instead of spots. His humeral spot is dark as ink, and you can only see it an angle. From a complete profile shot it looks like silver with a little dust on it. He's blinging like a diamond on the dorsal aspect. Bright orange gill plate, but his tail fin, anal fin, and head are all getting dark as hell like a rhom.

That's it....I'm keeping him... F*** 'em.

sounds like you have came to your senses finally. lol
so how do you plan on feeding him while you are away for two months? you are not planning to bring Darwin to Thailand with you are you?
now I really want to see some new pics of him.

I got some pics and he's lookin like a big purdy fish. Almost goofy looking. Here's what I'm thinking.

I bought a box that will fit my tank in it, and I am going to put the tank in it, carry it in last, and put darwin in a sealed 5g bucket. I don't think anyone will notice. Also I think when I get back I'm getting another tank to raise cons or FMs in for feeders.

I have two bulldogs and a friend will be baby sitting them for us. She's supposed to come over any day now and learn how to feed him and trouble shoot tank issues while I'm gone. She's also gonna be taking care of my fiance's black moor. His name is Gilbert Fishby. I call him Gil. Yes I know a goldfish. So far I have been able to ignore the voices in my head telling me that he would like to swim in the big tank with Darwin for a little while.

What do you think I should feed him while I'm gone? I don't think our sitter is gonna want to fish out shrimp remains. I was thinking earthworms. Thoughts?

get one of this and your sitter wouldn't have to worry about loosing her finger while taking out the leftover from Darwin's tank
or just simply tell her to put Gil in the tank with Darwin. :)

So i still didn't find the USB cable, but I "borrowed" the wifes phone and took a pic and emailed it to myself.

It doesn't do him justice. I'll post the better ones up later, but you can see the gnarly ass bar/spot pattern on his back.
