Umm... he's in college. Doubt they'll dump koolaid in his tank.

Lol yeah nobody will be messing with him. I'll tell them to put their fingers in the tank and see how much he really likes to be petted.:grinno: Then I will laugh hysterically. I'm not going to like pass the tank around, just let them see it from a distance, I mean he's 6 inches.

And oscarcrazy about your question earlier. I will be talking about the career of aquaculture. Like owning a fishery or being a manager of one but I want to tell everyone why I want to have a career like that. So I will be telling them about my tanks and such.

Ok, It's just that i majored in speech communications so I always made sure when giving and judging speaches that the props fit the premise of the presentation. I guess in the this case, the oscar would as an intro to interest and as a nice novelty. To round it out, I would include a couple pics of running hatcheries or fishfarms and maybe some pics of some of the species you might actually end up working with.

Okay I made a little tank for the oscar. It's 4.5 inches high and wide. And 8.5 inches long. It's all sealed up and ready to go.

Have a few ?'s though. Should I put him in his smaller tank today, like tonight. I have class tommorow at 9am. I would of course change the water in the morning before I went to class again.

Only thing though is that he wouldn't be able to move much plus he would only be at like 72 degrees. I'm thinking just moving him tommorow before I leave for class.

i would tansport him in a plastic rubbermad 10-20 gallon and bring a 10 g glass for show. moving a glass fishtank w/ water is a bad idea. its glass, and water is heavy, plus u can put a lid on the 10-20 g plastic thing (they usually come w/ em ) to lessen stress. once u get to the class, pour half the water from the rubbermaid to the tank, and put the fishy in it
whenever my buddy would transport fish for show he would use the same method. except w/ buckets

A quick update. I brung him in today. I spilled a little on the way and back, luckily I brung an extra gallon of tank water, so were good. Everyone liked him.

Ill take a quick pic with my cell later jus so you all can see what I made. My first DIY-a half galloner.:nilly:LOL I put hinges and a tab to open it too, it's nice-in a baby DIY kinda way. You shall see later. And Mr. Oscar is totally fine chilling with his friend the tiger Oscar.

dont take it in anything less than a 10G mate, anyways its not worth it unless its gonna get you higher grades which will actually help in later life..

i would not do this myself and wouldnt risk it to be honest, he will get very stressed due to the journey and definatley wont be himself, he will sulk for the whole 2 hours so IMO its pointless he will just sit on the bottom of the tank stressed out and sulking.

perfect example why i should read page 2 of a thread.

Hey why not take pictures? My sons in kintergarden so no doubt hes not taking the fish. We took lots of photos of his fish, the tank, filters, heater, types of food and etc and passed them around the room as he talked about it. After all ,a pictures worth a thousand words right? I would hate to kill something while talking about how much i love it. Make it like a mini presentation,do a slideshow on a disk maby even. Put a shout in for ]V[onsterfishkeepers.com

Guess i needed to read on too..sorry :-(
