Danger Chicken got it right. You are going to lose a little water when the power goes out.
Make sure that the overflow is high enough that the pump can restart without sucking air and you should be good to go.

The sumps overflow would be some type of DIY as the sump is 100% tempered

While its not the intention that the sump be maxed out, it was the intention to use the smallest possible sump. The reason the tank drains so much 1.5" is to ensure zero noise, this tank is dead silent, the only sound is the vibration from the pump. I have tried many many things, an overflow box has the least tank drop maybe .5 inches but its loud.

I am trying to pickup a 150 gallon stock tank of CL, still waiting to hear back, two of them for 35 each.

I've made some overflow here recently that might do the trick. They are cheap to make and should work well for a drip system. I'll see if I can get some pics posted for you. If you don't see them, be sure to remind me. Its gonna be a busy day.

Sorry for the delay on this. Here is a pic before I finished it up. It is a little easier to see.

Okay I have tinkered with the over flow, I have gotten it to drain enough to hold the water of the drip, plus tank volume during outage. I did have to sacrifice silence, the noise level is not much louder, you can barley hear it above the pump. Thanks Pharaoh for the pic Will build this overflow this weekend, what size vinyl tube did you use? All thats left is to buy the filter from the filter guys.

Those who use the filter guys filter for Chlorimine, how many gpd do you drip, and how ofter do you replenish the carbon? Was thinking about dripping 1GPH or 24 GPD.
