Nice, just make sure to use the HEAVY pieces that aren't rotting! I like the tangles, those are usually the best DIY dw!

why did you say no rotten or rotting wood? My first thought was termites and other bugs but not sure.

Well I'm not sure about you but I wouldn't want to put a piece of wood in my tank that falls apart and clogs everything up, a nice solid piece of wood that is heavy is more likely not to break down. But yea rotting wood can have harmful bacteria, pests etc, not to mention smell like crap and disintegrate!

What?

I've found all my own pieces of dw, I've also had many that I've let soak in bins and they've broken down into crap within days, and its usually the light pieces that crumble.

Go ahead put rotting wood into your tank genious! As long as the op knows better that's all I care about! lol.

It makes sense not to use rotten wood. I've had pieces fall apart on me before too. Lol I know now too .

The dw I recently put in my tank I cut off the part that was starting to rot from termites. I made sure I cut enough off that its solid wood that part was too big anyways.
