Tale Turning White

I've got 2 young motoros and their tales are short and stubby now and they have turned white and dead looking and the tale ends just after the stinger, is this normal or is it bad and how can i help them?

Sometimes their tails can get damaged during shipping.

Keep an eye on it. If it gets fuzzy I would then take action but until then it's best just to observe.

well they didnt get this way from shipping it just started the other day i added a bunch of wood on one side of the tank and they kept swimming through it if that help any

I wouldnt suggest you keep observing at this point. Add salt and raise temp.

well the new stingers are coming in (theyre brothers from the same batch of pups) but it looks like the tales are actually dying

yes add salt and raise temp, if it get infected, medicate them.

tail will not grow back, so where it is broken off, thats where its gonna stay.

well before you go off on this crazy salting med thing... lets try 2 things.... 1 how about a few 50% water changes in a row flush your tank.... and then how about some pictures....

just a IDEA before you do anything else...

Silver dollars and giant danios i was promised a tank a while back i still havent gotten but will have soon so the tank has a few fish in it.

you do those multiple 50% water changes to flush your tank yet? how big is your tank?
