Do as Nic said and keep your water clean for now.
I wouldn't think your rays tail would have been damaged by swimming in the wood but more so by the tankmates. Maybe the rays are in the wood to stay away from the tankmates.
 
That would make sense, come to think of it i have lots of room in another tankl for the danios. The tank is 75g i know super small but the rays are too I was promised a 6ft tank before april but im just getting it this week.
 
Well there's no way I'm letting them die escpecially after all the money I gave you for them skynoch I moved most of the other fish into a 55 and did a narly water change it turns out there was a crap load of well probably fish crap under the drift wood so i cleaned it out really good.

What sized tank are the rays in?
 
I hope they don't die also. Hopefully everything is solved and you didn't lose to much of their tail. With the tank there in now I would be doing 30-40% water changes everyday.
