Talk About a Dragon Goby on Steroids

How big do they get? I had one for about a yr and he was 12" and about as around as a quarter. Really cool fish. My girlfriend cooked him along with a hand full of other fish cause she thought they looked cold!
 
I have read they can get up to 36" to 48" or so!! I will need to upgrade my tank soon if want this one to keep growing!! They grow super fast though....I think I have only had this one about a year. Sucks to hear about your tank...but don't give up, get out there and get yourself another one;)
 
I'd be really careful about keeping this guy in FW. I've heard of people who kept them in fresh and they did not live their expected life span. Their bodies became covered with tumors and the fish died.
 
Mine is in full marine water. Salinity of 1.023.

These fishes do well in marine water??? I always try to keep them, but they live no longer than 1 week... I have never tried full marine water.
 
They are mainly brackish, however they are indeed sometimes found in marine waters
 
yeah they are cool i bought three a little over a year ago two of em' are in my 55 freshwater tank the other guy is in my wife's 75 full salt and they are very healthy
we acclimated the one for about an hour slowly addin' saltwater from her tank to the bucket he was in......
