One can never have too many tanks. Get both if space and money are not an issue.:thumbsup:

In tall vs. long, I would probably go for long. But I do prefer wider and longer tanks to longer and taller tanks.

Best just to go Long, Tall, & Wide:D

I have both. The big advantage of the 150G Tall is you can observe the whole tank without constantly scanning your eyes back and forth. The tall tank has the dimensions of a large screen TV. WIth the 30" depth, my African Cichlids have horizontal and vertical territories. The Haps tend to stay at the top; the Peacocks towards the bottom.

I find that I spend more time looking at my 150G Tall than any of my tanks. I believe that the minimal eye movement makes it more relaxing.

I would get the 150. the extra 50% water volume is significant outweighs the benefits of a bit more length IMO.

plus the 24" width is really nice.

in terms of surface area, there isn't much of a difference here.

48x24 =1152 square inches
72x18 = 1296 square inches

and you get a tank that is 50% bigger. thats significant

between the two, its a no brainer IMO get the 150.

Not that it really matters but the long tank is easer to clean. With a tall tank it helps to have Spiderman arms.

awesome, i think i'll just settle for both! :naughty:
i do have the room, and the funds... as they are great deals on the both of them!! ($100 for the long, $150 for the tall) come with everything except fish! thanks for the info!
