can I mix shell breeders and mouth breeders?

How many Dwarfs can I put in this tank? I keep seeing the gal per inch rule.
 
Go with all shellies or dwf. mbuna.
 
It depends on the 29G you have. Is it standard size? There are 29g tanks that are 3ft long which is half a foot longer than the standard size. I think you can keep more cichlids there because there is more space to swim across.
