Actually those in the picture do look like L. niloticus. What species do you have? L. mariae, L. stappersi? Wes in West Covina has been getting these rarer Lates species in for couple of years now.

Can you post a picture of your fish, instead of someone elses? Just wanted to make sure it is a rare fish.

isnt that lates micropletis ? it is a nile perch. i remember when dolphin international use to bring those in ...they were like 2 in a box and $119 ea....in 1993 !!!!!!
