  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Didn't know that,I thought they were based in Las Vegas or somewhere else out west. The guys I was referring to are Living Color.
I've also been looking for an acrylic tank in florida too. Is it cheaper to buy pre-made or make it yourself?

I saw on the Living Color fb page that they are going out of business? and might have some deals. It seems like they are selling the sheets of acrylic according to one of their ads. ...

Cheaper to do it DIY. If done right especially if large but just my opinion.

If i had an oversized tank id probably make a stand with 4x4s and 4x6s. I use these headlok lags to fasten everything. Theyre very sturdy, you just need an impact drill to drive them.

I know Mario personally. Good guy. Never bought his tanks but bought his acrylic sheeting. Last I dealt with him was a few years back and he had a guy glue the tanks for him in Orlando. 8x4x2 = 480 gal = $2500. I doubt anyone can beat that. What's that tank from FTD?

My friend Jeff, used to be here under victor448 screen name before going saltwater, bought two such 480 gal tanks from Mario+his collaborator. Was happy with them. If you wish to speak to Jeff, I might arrange that.

Of course, there is Dolphin fiberglass, as mentioned above too. They make smaller tanks too out of fiberglass + acrylic window.

I'm not sure how I would do it or would be confident in my abilities to build it myself....especially with the drilling and making a sump. My reseal on my glass tank looks rough, but I even never glued a tank together before. It does seem like a worthwhile process and I'm all about saving money.

Living color is selling acrylic sheets on their website, but I wouldn't even know where to start with a build. . Been looking on Craigslist, but haven't really found anything.
