Long story short: I had my 72 set up and running without powerheads for 2 days. I plugged them in and a misty cloud took over the tank. NO problem, all of the gravel dust settled and is being recirculated. Few days later, tank clears up but is not quite crystal.
I start stocking the tank and the cloud is starting to annoy me. I do my first waterchange (Not much really, just took 5-7 gallons out while lightly cleaning the gravel). Water still cloudy.
I decide to put some water clarifer in. I figure the dust is too fine and the Fluval 304 is missing it. I start to squirt the Aquirel F in and the moment it hits the water a milky white cloud emerges.
24 hours later, still cloudy. 24 hours later (Last night) I do a 25% water change. 24 hours later-STILL CLOUDY.
I don't want to do another water change because i'm only 3 weeks into this and don't want to remove bacteria. I cleaned the Fluval sponge pads and they were OK-just a little dirty.
I never had a problem like this before. Very strange.
