hmmmmm 48x48 isn't going to work, regarless of the glass issue lol.

so back to old drawing board.

3 55g could get me to a 60x21x21 but I'm starting to think I'm splitting hairs here.

I might be able to pickup a 125g for 100-120$ off of craigslist plus a free 55g for a sump. that's probablly the way to go.

thanks for listening to my random thoughts

get the 125g for 100 bucks and if you don't just have patience. I just scored a 120 with stand for $80 bucks.

I was thinking of doing something similar with my 2 29g tanks. Cant remember the measurements atm but I wanna say it was like 40g

with that small of tank it would probablly work. the issue with mine was not the volume of water but the width of the tank vs glass thickness. that's why you see most tanks as long rectangle instead of squares. 48" long obviously worked fine but going 48 x48 I found would need 1" thick glass, maybe even 1.25".

I've been checking craigslist out and I have a couple of ones I'm waiting on replies.
one is a 135g for free :WHOA:
the other is a 150g that would need so minor repair and a stand for 50$

I've been back and forth with the 150 guy but it seems like a 2 day span in between replies lol. the 135 just popped up today and I repsonded within 1 minute of its posting so i'm hoping.

also someone with a spare 300$ is going to get a whoppe rof a deal. check this out.

from the looks of it it seems like they ran out of financing for the projectand are now moving and have to get rid of it.

but 1$ a gallon is a hell of a deal for larger tanks.
