First of all, I am envious of all your tanks....I only have 4 running and the 5th is just too big for the house.
How about a little experiment, try spraying the new water from the hose directly at the sides of your tank, cause as much surface aggitation as possible. It might be that your single filter is not causing enough disturbance to the surface and oxygen levels are low to begin with your current set up.
Do you keep any Victorians?
