Again, I have a question......

I just have replaced my 125's gravel (Mixture of white spectra stone and crushed coral) I did not drain the tank, I left about 5 LBs at the bottom in my egg crate. I did not change out my 3 Emperors Filter Media, and I did not change out my AC70 and AC50 External filters or their media either. I have yet to test my water, but here goes........

Since I am using water that was currently in there with what was:

1x 6" Tiger O
1x 5" Texas
1x 6" JD
1x 5.5" GT
4 SD's as dithers.

I just changed the gravel.......Cycled? or not??

Test your water, ammonia may have snuck up a tiny tiny amount. because bacteria grows on every surface, including substrate.... the bacteria will now have to start again on the new substrate, but in a cycled tank it shouldn't take long. Doubt you or the fish will even notice it...

After I test and it's ok, great in fact.

I still am a touch nervous to add fish.....

Should I start using Cycle?

even though the test is great??

Thanks

The bio should build back up.. The water really makes no difference.. As the water doesn't contain your Bacteria.. It's sitting in and on all the surfaces.. So as you said your params are fine.. And most likely will stay that way :)

In my experience in moving/swapping/upgrading tanks, and I've moved over 15 tanks now, if you have an established filter (the bigger the better), you have an established tank. Just don't use a bio load higher than it was handling before and you should have no problems. Your tank should not run through a cycle if you used all pre-established filters.

Thanks you all!
