Tank Cycled?

Yesterday I went over to a friends house to test his water parameters cuz he's had a tank set up for alittle over 4 weeks. So do you guys think his tank is cycled? Parameters: Ammonia-0, Nitrite-0, Nitrate-between 0 and 5. He has been doing a fish-in cycle with assorted african cichlids. Thanks

has he done a water change? if no, then he's not cycled cause if it was, his nitrates would be thru the roof

he has not done a water change..... I would have though his nitrates would be higher as well!

doesnt sound to me like it's cycled. what size tank? and how big are fish and how many?

55g with 6 assorted lake malowii (not sure spelled right). They are all around 1.5-2". Forgot what the filtration is but it is a HOB

those fish sound tiny, they prob hardly even creating any bioload

4 weeks is enough time, but keep checking just to be sure. Any plants in there? If not, maybe he's just pulling your chain & he did a 50% WC last night....

He is lazy so I'm sure he didnt do a WC. He does have a val and anubias. He has added water with prime to counter act evaporation so this could have affected the water parameters
