Tank cycling question?

Ok jokes aside, you could dump in a market prawn as a constant supply of ammonia. Just remember to do a large water change before adding fishes as I'm almost certain that your nitrates would rocket after a long time

you could if you keep feeding the cycle. If you just take the fish out the bacteria will die due to lack of fish waste. If you were to throw a pinch of food in there every now and again it would work. I would just test the water before putting the fish in if that is the route you are going as you want to make sure you didn't over do it with feeding the bacteria.
