Quarantine Tank
Ive always wanted to put these guys in a tank with some awesome lighting. I think it would look amazing in a tank with black sand.

Anybody know what would happen? Anything? :)

The biggest concern, outside of its reaction to water would also have to be the weight!

how about the sharp edges??? wouldnt that be a concern???

nope...lol - :D

I did this with a smaller version of the purple stone. My ph was still 8.0 and nothing went negative.

Got a pic? :D

Nice thought, thou a small stone versus a large concentration are two different things...

Na that was when I had my 55gallon setup. iv since moved to a bigger tank and havent put it in.

I would say it was tiny, although 3x2 is kinda small haha.

When in doubt throw some vinegar on it!

Most rock that has a crystalline structure like shown is made by metamorphic processes: read as: high temp, high pressure, more than likely inert.

You can try a bit of vinegar on an inconspicuous area, though I doubt it will react. Should be fine for decor.

You can do it with alot of crystles as like said above they are formed under ground so they usually won't dissolve in water Some crystles are formed by gas pockets that are sealed in molten rock so becareful

Those purple crystles ( forgot the name ) are safe only problem with big chunks like that is when they get covered in algea its a pain to clean them
