well...maybe it doesnt get it as fast? me and a friend each bought a juvenile silver aro perfect condition and he put his one in a 2.5 feet tall tank and i put mine in a 18inch temporarily....after the months went by his one had developed DE and mine didnt...plus we were both giving them the exact same food (hikari pellets)

And this proves what? I can tell you my silver developed DE in both eyes at seperate times. Each time the DE occured within a few hours of the aro suffering severe head trauma.

I just don't see how anybody could logically conclude that silvers get DE from looking down too much:screwy:

Isn't DE caused by fat accumulated behind the eye?

But any cow...8'x3'x2' would be ideal for a silver.

18" deep is pushing it for maxed of cichla, too. a silver might be okay in there up to 2'. I really haven't figured out the exact depth to body length/depth ratio yet.

Ye i dont think 18" is deep enough for a big aro id go 30" deep if im honest but whatever you decide on go as big as possible, there is no such thing as too big (if you can afford it)

like the other poster said, fat accumulation behind eyes. something think feeding them less fatty food will help , but i like my dragon fat and big
