Scats or Mudskippers wouldnt work if he's doing Amazonian...
I apologize for suggesting Mud skippers. When I think of Mangroves I automatically think of them. Sometimes this site can be so serious. Anyway, I look forward to seeing your tank build JK47. Good luck to you.

Thanks bro. I did a brackish mudskipper tank a few years back and loved those fish, just got tired of mixing water. I know where you were going with it. My 125 is currently a hybrid of both with manzanita, java and Malaysian driftwood and LOTS of it. I want to style it one way or the other and have a total man crush on mangroves. It really is blackwater righ nowt, the ph is so low in this tank it won't even register on an API test kit (<5.0)

75% RO + 200 lbs of DW = true blackwater ;) I just can't get the mangrove itch scratched.

It sounds even better than I imagined. That is some extremely low ph. The Blackwater theme isn't done enough IMO. Most people want "crispy" water. I myself am guilty of this. But with proper stocking and aquascaping it can be very beautiful. Gotta love the Mangroves. I hope your health continues to improve so that you can enjoy a long time with your family and the hobby. I'll be waiting for the pics.
