Not sure where to post, so feel free to move. I really would like ideas on how to make a tank divider for either tank. I need it for an aggressive flowerhorn cichlid. She really hates my oscar, achara catfish, and his "children".

She wouldn't be so bad with the divider in the 125g that has the oscar, but that wouldn't give her much swimming room. Keep in mind this is the same oscar who at over twice her size, she beat out the oscar's insides...lliterally.

The 265g would be more ideal, but my 2'+catfish might ram into the divider, knocking her loose. The corner overflows also states a problem....The much smaller 7-8" took massive chunks out of my 25"+ catfish to give you a better idea...and the catfish could easily swallow her, but doesn't

any ideas very much appreciated as I really don't have too much room to set up one more bigger tank. Believe me, we've been measuring, and putting more things into storage....

light diffuser, egg crate. use suction cups and/or large rocks, bricks to hold it in place. u get the light diffuser in the lighting section of the hardware store, i.e. home depot.

ok, I have egg crates in the sump for the 265g. I thought about using them for dividers, but am not sure if they'd hold up. Guess it's worth trying....like I said, it's awkward due to the corner overflows. I even thought about keeping her in the sump, but she's sucha beautiful fish that she needs to be seen.

Next Q's ....to connect and make last suction cups onto the egg crates, and would they stand up to the force of the catfish? There's been times when I thought he'd break thru the dang glass from listening to him banging and thumping off of it swimming...

As for large rocks, nope. I have a bare bottom. Plus the big catfish.

I'm sorry for my ignorance. I'm just not creative when it comes to the "mechanical" of things with the tanks...note....I am the one who cares for all the tanks and inhabitants....

that's how i keep my big cats from attacking my clown loaches. this is not a 100% guaranteed way, to prtoect the fish. just use bricks along the bottom of the egg crate, kinda like a retaining wall.

any pics of this setup in action?

I made tank dividers for my 75G and 125G tanks out of 1" PVC. I used four legs to support the divider; making it nearly impossible for a large fish to knock down. You can cover up the legs with substrate to hide them.
