Something to consider:

I have a persistent problem with surface scum. I have to run a skimmer constantly on all my tanks. I adjusted the height of the dividers so that they are slightly lower than the water line. That way scum doesn't get trapped on one side of the tank. Of course I could always add a second skimmer.

Forgot to mention that I filled the tubing with sand to give it some mass and help it stay in place.

I glued the frame together except one end cap on a leg. I then used a funnel to pour fine sand (from HD) into the tube. I occasionally tapped the frame tubes with a screw driver handle to compact the sand throughout the frame. Took awhile to fully fill the frame. After it was filled, I glued on the end cap.

It weighs about 5lbs.
