Are you sure you have a 10 amp circuit? If it is 10 amps then you should check the wire gauge of that circuit. I bet you can put in a 15 amp breaker and be done. 10 Amp breakers are uncommon and I bet it was installed after the house was built. Most likely the whole house was wired for 15 amp circuits.

I agree with 12 Volt Man - 1200W of heat is way too much. I don't use that much heat on my garage tanks. If it is going to be in the house two heaters will be plenty.
