I just bought a gold nugget pleco, it is in a 10 gallon tank with two small tetras, it just died two days after. Is the tank to small?

The tank would be too small with time, unless the pleco you bought is big already. But a death after 2 days is something with your tank or the pleco wasn't right in the first place. Check your water perameters. Just to be sure

Also it is recommended you keep the tetras in a school. Did you cycle your tank?

It is possible your pleco was sick or your water parameters aren't right.

I heard that plecos need a bigger tank because they like to explore. I think the smallest tank you could put them in is a 55 gal. Overtime that guy will outgrow the tank and it would be hard to constantly have to clean up the tank because of the amount of waste they produce. If they make it past a month than they pretty much live forever

One of the tetras in the tank just died a day after... Do plecos have any diseases... The tank was set up for about 4 months before

No, before stores sell their fish they check them for diseases but usually when you get a pleco from the fish store at an early age they may be stressed out and die because of how the stores handled him or maybe he was a new addition and it was one of them crappy fish stores that don't check their fish and the fish got moved before they could acclimate and are sick. But fish just die for unknown reasons sometimes.

not related to the tetra but a common problem with GNs is that they have VERY long digestive tracts and these empty out during shipping and the bacteria inside them die or they just take a very long time to fill up again.
