Tank height for Aros/PBass?

Here are my quotes for just the tanks. These are glass tanks, I'm up in Canada, and they are made by a very knowlegable custom builder...so don't freak at the prices.
- 10'X3'X30" (561 gallons) = $4,735
- 10'X4'X30" (748 gallons) = $5,975
- 10'X4'X36" (898 gallons) = $9,355
Money is a consideration, but not a limiting factor, for this build. But 50%+ more for 6"...yeesh. Brian, do you have any pictures of your 36" tall tank I could look at? Thanks.
Who, yeah I think I would also go with the 748 gallons. Sorry if I mislead you, the extra money I spend was for 30" instead of the 24" height.

Extra height = thicker glass, probably have to jump from 15mm to 19mm for that extra 6" height, thus the price increase. I'd go for the 748g option, the extra height would be nice, but not for an extra $3.5k. 30" height will be better than what most arowanas end up with anyway...

This is Glasscages prices. For comparison:
130" x 31" x 30" $2,520 vs 120" x 36" x 30" $4,732
130" x 37" x 30" $2,940 vs 120" x 48" x 30" $5,975
130" x 37" x 36" $3,675 vs 120" x 48" x 36" $9,355
Don't get me wrong. I pay premium too (for computers---a solid 50-60% at times) because I want it right the first time and I don't want it shipped 1,000 miles from a company with poor customer service. Still, the 6" calculation just looks wrong. The premiums are similar on the first 2, then it skyrockets on the third one (an extra 50%.) If the first 2 are right, the third one should be around $7,500. I guess it would make sense if your supplier has access to 30" glass locally but has big issues on sourcing 36". Jiminy. That's a big jump alright.

If you look at the amount of glass used between the 10'x3'x30" as compared to the 10'x4'x3' it takes amost twice as much glass to build plus some of the glass will also be thicker. So double the price is understandable.
FWIW. Glasscages at the top with sizes of 500, 610, 730 and 100 gallons. I converted the tank to cubic inches of glass. So the 500 gallon tank has 10,086 cubic inches of glass. (5.837 ft^3) The .73 in the first example is the glass thickness (18.5 mm) converted to inches. The 2894 is the total cubic inches for the front panel, and so on.
I don't have the glass thickness, but I assumed the glass would be set to achieve a 3.8 SF and rounded to the nearest higher mm thickness. Also, I assumed the bottom would be the same thickness. Assumed no other costs. This driver model seems to provide a stable estimate for the published pricing between 100 and 730 gallons. It 'seems' to be in the range of $.23 to $.28/ft^3. It's contrary to what I would have expected from my production background, but every industry has it's differences.
