Tank in Tank 2

Yeah, I hear all the time how eels like to escape. Before I knew of their Hudini act, I had open backs to my tanks where hang-on filters used to be housed. Never had a problem. Even now there are holes large enough for my datnoids to jump out, but for over 2 years now I never had an eel try to leave.

My guess is that a happy eel won't go to foreign places looking for food (mine get a nice supply of shrimp and live crayfish with the occasional convict supplement plus they eat the sinking pellets). Also the surface water in this tank moves pretty quick, so that may have increased my fortune.

Even then, I do know that the eel's sense of smell may drive it bananas to know that there is food right behind this structure so I am making it as eel proof as I can.
