Turtle wastes would kill everything other than feeder shrimp, malaysian trumpet snails and feeder guppies...

I wouldn't keep most turtles with fish regardless, but this statement is incorrect, there are plenty of times people have turtles (like frt) together with fish and obviously it isn't just with shrimp and guppies. The key is having clean water, you can't allow wastes to accumulate to that point

Not that I know of, and your point would be anyway?

I was just wondering because I wouldn't think that you could buy them and thought that since you had one maybe you can get one of the opposite sex and try breeding and releasing to help the population out. The last link is asking for help in this regard. If it was me I think I would be interested in doing so.

did you all miss the post i did or soemthing! i kept mine with fish perfectly fine for over a year. so clearly u can keep them together. but i always use good external filters and regular waterchanges

they only thing is the fish will always ave a chance of ending up as food..so even if your tanks stays super clean dont put in anything in there your would be upset if it got eaten.

do not release aquarium animals into the wild!!!!!!!!!!!!

^ I agree. Even tho they are Aussie native turtles, we don't know exactly where they belong, and we don't know if the aquarium fish that could be introduced may be caught by the turts and then infect the native fishes... Not a good thought huh?
