My tank has been setup for about 4-5 months now. I have not touched anything except cleaned the used emperor cartridges a couple of times and added some type of biorocks to the baskets. I neglect the hell out of water changes and probably have actually did a water change like twice. Other than a little algae everything seems fine. Before long my RD will probably kill everything in the tank but for now everything seems cool.

Thanks for sharing...............?

I once ran a tank for almost 3 years, rarely changed filter pads, just rinsed and put back in. Rarely disturbed the gravel. Never did more than a 1/3 water change at a time and that only about every third month. Tank worked so well as a grow out for angels, balas, and clown loaches and plants that I was afraid to mess with it. It was a long 100g. I tested it weekly and it never got over 25-30 ppm ammonia, 7ph, and 8 hardness. It was amazing and I kept expecting it to crash. That it never did I attribute to either luck or fish gnpmes that snuck in and took care of things when I was sleeping.

you really should be doing a water change at the least every month with a red devil in the tank don't listen to guppy because once you start neglecting a tank it is just luck that your fish are living...
