Tank mate needed.

Could you house any tank mates with them getting picked off? would he be able to catch tetras? I think cardinal tetras would add some contrast to the silver.
 
If thats a 7x2x2 then it won't be 250. I've got a 8x2x2 and thats a 240.

Nice tank and fish regardless though! Maybe a stingray in there?

I believe a 7x2x2 is a 210

OP, you need a bigger tank. A 36" fish doesn't really work in a 24" wide tank. Worry about the fish you have before you worry about the fish you want.
 
Must be custom made. 36" wide is impossible to find.

There's plenty of tanks that are 3 ft wide. Check out glasscages.com they have a handful of tanks that are 36"
 
common tankmates include parrot chiclids ,spotted gars,flagtail prochilodus,tiger dats ,bichirs ,and rays as mention by another member.they have to be size appropiate.thinking around 6-7 inches as a minimum.depending on the fish.
