Tin foil barbs are tropical fish and get too large, your best bet are sub-tropical species, Buenos Aires tetras would do well and are geographically correct, barbs that come from sub tropical areas like China, though not geographically correct, would work in the cooler temps gymnos like, Rosy barbs come to mind.
As far as Geos, any of the braziliensis complex can handle cooler temps, Geo iporangensis come to mind, although not sure if they would be too aggressive, or because of their similarity of looks, territorial issues may be a problem.

What are you looking for tankmates for? The Gymnogeophagus or the Arowana? They can't go toegther long term, though large Geophagus, like Altifrons could potentially work with the Silver Arowana. If you want to Gymnogeophgus more all the species Duanes mentioned would do well.
Based on my exsperience so far with the Iporangensis from you, I think they would be ok with Gymnos as long as they are not breeding. I still have the odd man out of the trio you gave me with my Gymnos, and he is fine, even with my tiny Ciclasoma dimerus, small Australheros oblongum, and paleatus corys. The pair were too aggressive though. In a big tank, like 100g plus, I think a pair might even be ok, if they had a distinct place they could guard without taking over the whole tank, but mine is actually a 75g hex, so it has slightly less floorspace than a 55g.

Most tropical Geophagus such as jurupari, would work temporarily, but as has been repeated before, Gymnos are not tropical, and need a cool down, most Geophagus are tropical, except the brasiliensis complex.
But in your first post, didn't you say you wanted to breed Gymnos?
If so, any tankmates would be a mistake, because they would eat the fry. The best way to breed Gymnos is to have 1 or 2 males, and lots of females, 4 or more, and no other species in the tank.

ok i was just looking to add more fish to the tank that the gymnos where in looks pretty bare with 4 fish i might set up my 55 gallon for the jurupari for a little while i think
