Just got a severum for my 75g and am looking for some tank mate options. He is with a male and female red tapajos currently but the male chases him around and I don't want him to die from stress. Thinking about selling the tapajos and doing some other tank mates as the super red severum is amazing. Interested maybe in some type of cat and no idea what else.

I would sell the tapajos, and get two or three super red severums to add to the severum that you have.

If you were planning on getting a catfish, you could try banjo catfish, or something exotic like that. :)

What if I was interested in having the severum as a centerpiece fish, any suggestions with that?

I would agree with moving/selling the geo's ... a sev can really fill up a 75 gallon with their bulk, so I would go with a group of say bolivian rams along the bottom. Or a pair of keyholes or curviceps.

For dithers/schooling fish, make sure they get a good size. Sev's have been known to eat smaller tetras, on up to the size of red eye tetras. So go larger ... diamonds, bleeding hearts, or columbians.

Banjo cats suggest above are a great addition.

A pair of Geos will easily dominate a 4' tank if they're spawning. Another semi-peaceful cichlid like a severum would be a target for sure. There's the chance that they're just chasing him right now because he's new and they're trying to establish their pecking order, but it may not stop if the geos are in breeding mode.

If you do rehome the geos, stick with something smaller. Darth Pike had some good suggestions. Sevs do well with Laetacara and keyholes. You could also get larger tetras. Colombians are nice but I have a soft spot for congo tetras. They're not SA fish, but if you don't mind mixing it up a bit, I think they're prettier than Colombians or Buenos Aires tetras.

Will have to trade the geos in. What about a school of silver dollars and some type of 7-8" cat.

I have three Severums with three Angelfish, two Rhino Plecos and some Pristella and Red Blue Columbian Tetras. They all get along fine. Only the occasional chasing, Severum to Severum or Angelfish to Angelfish, but that is natural, they don't hurt each other. But for the most part I can sit down with a brewskie or iced tea and watch them, all moving around gracefully and peacefully.

Do a group of redtail loaches. (yasuhikotakia modesta). loaches always add life to tanks. buncha of goofballs.

I think I'm going to do some larger body tetras. I'm also thinking about a pictus or Raphael cat or some type of pleco. I will look into the keynotes, what about rainbow cichlids?

I was going to say keyhole cichlids as well, they are very peaceful.
I had a pair of rainbow cichlids and they were pretty tough, although I am not sure whether they are always like that.
