Hopfully this will work

AWWW. Paintdrop/almost symmetrical spots A moderate grower, will grow his belly out before his length, golf ball with a tail instead of a more streamlined fish body.

Look at number 2, Chomper on this thread. http://www.**************.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=24283&sid=abaf5635c323a3372c59988c8b96b386

I don't know how long you have had yours but it took one of mine the better part of a year to get his belly into the golfball.

After that, I am not sure how long it will take until 6 inches, probably another year or so. Will go from golf ball to tennis ball lol

Just my opinion, not scientific fact!

Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing that with me Purplecandle!
I've had my GSP since October, but he was previously owned so I don't know how old he is or how small he was when the previous owner got him. They had him in a fresh water community tank the whole time they had him so I hope that him being in fresh water for that amount of time will not affect his growth or heath.

If he is 2 or less, he should be fine..provided he was not in a 5 gallon tank or something. His past diet could be a factor. But he looks pretty healthy now, looks like your doing a good job :)

Once he gets the big belly his growth might plateau so be prepared for that.

I wish all GSPs grew in predictable amounts like fahkas or MBUs. Instead I think they have unpredictable growth spurts and growth patterns that somehow relate to their spots (spots may indicate regions they come from)

Wow that's really amazing that the spot's can say so much about them and where they came from. It would be really interesting to research that and find out which region he came from.
Glade to hear that he looks healthy, he is a cute little guy. He's actually my first fish so I'm scared of screwing up especially since I read that they are not for beginners.
I think his previous owner had him for a year or less. :) So hopfully he'll get to be full grown and healthy.
Yeah it would be nice if they grew in predictable amounts so that we could predict their age, but either way they are awesome!
