Tank mates for a silver

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Aye id go with a lima shovelnose as a bottom dweller they look good and aren't agressive nor do they grow large (like 18 inches AT MOST)

I have 4 feet to expand my tank so if they get absolutely huge when they get older its no problem.. i got room to expand :D

oooooo peacock bass would look nice with em, I assumed they would grow too large and kill the arowana

Delhezi Bichir ( would go quite nicely as it is a bottom dweller). It grows quite slowly and is quite cute. Beware, once you have bichir - pleco will be out of question due to incompatibility.

Not necessarily true. I have a mango in with two senegals and a chocholate and a royal in with the ornate without any problems. Anything that isn't extremely aggressive and doesn't fit in the aro's mouth should work. Mine is currently at 12 inches with an equal size BGK, two senegals, a large angel, two pimodella gracilis(used to be three), the mango pleco and one probably soon to be doomed long finned rosy barb.

Plecos do not supposed to go well with any large slow moving and/or bottom dwelling types (alot of articles on the web to support it). too). I can confirm from my experience that it is true because i used to have a common pleco with RTC - and while toegether there were roughly round shape leisions on RTC body (after separations the wounds healed up nicely). Same problem with a gar - though the wounds where not as severe (may be due to the fact that gar at least has some scales).

I am sure that plecos were kept sucessfully with rays and bichirs and catfishes - i think it is risky. Plecos can be very colorful thus very pretty. ... and it is painful not having a pleco for cleaning the tank ^_^ so choose carefully
