tank mates for bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
To be honest, I have a REALLY hard time making decisions.

But, is what I want to do is get two silver arowanas, one black aro, and three p-bass.

Im going to probably put four canister filters on the tank. Two Rena XP4's and two Eheims maybe.

I'll probably do a DIY sump/overflow for that big of a tank.

But in the 180, Im thinking just two rena xp4's and an aquaclear 110 for extra airation.

And as far as fish go for the 180(wich is going to be used as a growout) I'm going to put one p-bass and one black arowana and the once I get the 375 I'll growout two silvers and two p-bass!

I guess that would work. Head over to the arrow forum if you haven't already to see what the rules are for multiple silver arows in a tank is though. I remember it used to be a big no-no because of fighting but alot of people have done it.

I have heard 3 is the minimum for keeping multiples.

I actually have been posting about p-bass and ro's there and they dont seem to have any problem with keeping three aro's and three p-bass.

I think it would look like a mini amazon.

I'm going to put some amazon swords/java fern and maybe some type of floating plants in there with a big piece of driftwood in each corner and a small on for the middle that will be pushed up againt the back of the tank.

Im going to use a dark gravel for the substrate and I will paint the back of the tank black so that the p-bass really show off there colors.

I cant wait to bring a little bit of the amazon into my own house!

Sounds good then.

Hope it turns out nice once I get it all set-up good.

I'll be sure to post pics.

I'm also going to post pictures once I get my 180 set-up with black arowana an p-bass.

I dont really know what kind of p-bass though. I was thinking Mono's because I like there dark green color. I just want something that really pops and has nice color.
