Tank mates for Black belt Cichlids ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How you going to keep 6-7 pacus in your tank....Just wondering, I'm guessing it will be a 260G.....That isn't even enough to house 1.

Or am I wrong and you're talking about real Piranhas, because Red Bellied Piranha is a nickname for Red Belly Pacu.

And may I suggest a Convict or Texas...

i'd recommend BB go well with BB, not much else.
you'll wake up one morning and all your fish will be strangly floating upside down
doing laps around your tank.
lol.

how big is your tank? Umbie can attain a size of 24", so if it is anything less then a 7' tank i wouldnt try and keep tankmates with it.

Like i said in my first post they are all in a 120Gal tank ( 4x2x2 ) for now but soon will be moving into a 240Gal ( 8x2x2 ) or a 300Gal ( 8x2.5x2 ) .

ooh, your keeping them with other larger more fierce cichlids lol.
it should be fine.
i'd always keep a black belt with something you feel wouldn't let
the black belt gain much dominance.
veija and paratheraps with black belts would look SHEXY!

The 6 - 7 Red Bellied Piranha will be goig in the 120Gal tank when i swap the fish about , but i am now not sure if i want to get them .

I made a thread in the Piranha section and was told that 6 - 7 RBP would be a good number in a 120gal ( 4x2x2 ) tank .

Jack Dempsey, convicts, texas...you don't want something too evil because your acara and severum might not be able to handle it.
