My clown does fine with pbass, rtc, niger cat, and lima shovelnose.

i've seen a 28" redtail eat a 22" clown knife so i dont recommend that mix. i prefer to mix my clown with fish of similar size that aren't aggressive.

i just got a 4in CK and put it in my 50g with 2 JDs 2 convicts and a small red devil and over night they beat him up. Are these good tank mates?

Not so much. That's a rough house bunch in a too small box. Any 'new guy' would catch hell in that setup but especially one that's not very agressive. At 4" your knife is mild mannered & shy. Once he gets some size on he'll be fine but till then try other mild mannered mates. Others may have told you but you're gonna need to upgrade soon! (that's even w/out the Knife) "T"

Unless you have another tank the ebjd is probably going to turn out the same way. I hate to be that guy but, your red devil alone fills that tank.
