Tank Mates for Datnoids?

Yes I Understand in a couple of Years I will Need a bigger tank!

At the moment I have a 32 gal and my dat is only about 5 inches end to end.

So I will be able to house others for a bit.
And the sooner the day comes I need a Bigger tank... the Better!

My Name is Thomas and I'm new here at MFK ! Sorry about my English (I hope it is understandable). I have popped up this thread because I have a similar question about Datnioides.

A group of 7 Datnoids undecimradiatus I'm looking forward to receive, were the reason why I joined here. I also look around about possible Tankmates. But first some facts about my Tank and the Dat's:

  • 260 Gallons 200x80x60cm ( ~ 78 x 32 x 24")
  • Self made 3D-Background
  • Rocks and Wood setup
  • Moderate LED Lighting
  • The Dat's are currently between 6 and 8 inch and I know that they will need a bigger Tank in the future.
I looking for Tankmate's who are using the bottom region of the Tank, so Loaches (Chromobotia macracanthus) or Eels (Mastacembelus), were my first intention.

The Tankmates also need to come out of South East Asia because I would like to have a pure habitat Tank.

Any new Ideas or advice about my Planning ?

Would be a nice option, but are there a spec out of South East Asia ???
