tank mates for geophagus red head

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My EBJD flirts with my female G. redhead Tapajos when the other female is tied up with the male. Its really funny! They get on pretty well and all the fish in the tank know not to mess with the EBJD including the severums who are top dog. But because of this, there is hardly any fighting.

for me angle's are not my thing But i was looking in to electric blue rams but they are too small for a one piece in my tank. any other suggestions??

a male Laetacara then i guess i should just get a male and a female since they dont grow that big that would probably be my second choice. How about a Vieja synspila?? a single specimen looks nice but do they eat any kind of plants cuz my brother inlaw has one with 3 oto's and since the oto's do fine for a year now i am thinking about it. The plant eating part worries me cuz i want my java ferns to grow huge...took me a year just to get to its size now from a lilo plant-let..so wat do u guys think?

Ouch, definitely no Paratheraps/Vieja, will horrify the Eartheaters and you won't get the most entertaining and natural behaviour out of them.

It's easy to find fish that would live peacefully and happily with your OHs - most SA dwarfs would do. But keep in mind that your OHs will mostly hang out near the bottom, and so are most dwarfs because they like to hide among plants. To make your tank look "full" you really need some fish that like that upper part of the tank. That's why I suggested angels.

Are you sure you don't like them? ;) Mine are getting along great with my Geos.

well angels really nice if i do pick angels then ill be too picky since i want one that will stand out from the tank but most of them are silver-ish. i dont really want my tank to look full cuz then i would have to buy different types of food depending on the fish tho. i like space in the tank for some odd reason...lol so that the fish can have some space to breath rather than look all crowded.i was looking into some top water fish but havent found anything that i like for this 75g thats compatible with oto's, OH/RH, plants....i guess i am too picky LOL
